Good Samaritan Welcomes New Hospitalist
Kearney – Good Samaritan Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Waseem Barham has joined Good Samaritan Hospitalist Service.
Hospitalists are internal medicine physicians who specialize in caring for hospital patients and overseeing complex medical situations. They provide for the general, round-the-clock care of hospitalized patients.
The Good Samaritan Hospitalist Service allows physicians to request that a hospitalist take over the care of a patient admitted to the hospital, or who is in the emergency department. Physicians may also request a hospitalist consultation for patients. Hospitalists do not see patients outside of the hospital setting.
Barham joins Dr. Khaled Abuhanttash, Dr. Aumyot Prongdong, Dr. Porntip Kiatsimkul, medical director Dr. Lissa Woodruff and Brooke Cast, PA-C on the medical staff of the service.
Barham earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Zarqa Government Hospital in Zarqa, Jordan, and residencies in internal medicine at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan and at Brown University's Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Barham has participated in research and presentations on various topics in cardiology, oncology and pulmonology.
