Gov. Heineman Appoints New Judge for 10th Judicial District

Gov. Dave Heinemanannounced Friday that Phelps County Attorney Tim Hoeft will be filling the vacancy in Nebraska's south-central 10thJudicial District left open by the retirement of Judge Robert Ide.

Hoeft, of Holdrege, has been practicing law for 23 years and has served as the Phelps County Attorney since 1995.

Additionally, he has served as special prosecutorfor Harlan, Buffalo, Franklin, Kearney, Furnas and Adams Counties.

According to Heineman's office, he is an active member of his community, serving as a volunteer and as acommittee and board member for multiple organizations.

Hoeft earned hisbachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska - Kearney and his JurisDoctor from Creighton University School of Law.

The10th Judicial District consists of Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Harlan,Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps and Webster counties.
