Grand Island Bar Owner Injured in Assault on Friday

Two Grand Island men have been referred for prosecution after injuring a Grand Island bar owner.

Authorities say the owner of El Centenario Bar and Grill kicked the two out of his business after a fight Friday night. They returned around 11:30 that night.

When they returned, authorities say the two men hit the owner in the face with the butt of a pistol and beat him repeatedly. Witnesses say the men shot six rounds in the air while leaving the scene.

Police say the suspects have not been found, but they are known to GIPD.
