The public is invited to attend an informational meeting in Grand Island to discuss the Capital Avenue widening project, which is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2015.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Memorial Hall of the United Veteran's Club, 1914 W. Capital Ave.
The project would widen Capital Avenue to five lanes with curb and would include new concrete pavement, storm sewer, roadway lighting and a pedestrian/bike trail.
City personnel and the design consultant for Olsson Associates will be at the meeting to answer questions and discuss the project. Olsson Associates is currently finalizing the project's design.
Following the presentation, residents, property owners and businesses will be given an opportunity to individually meet with members of the project team to discuss property and access impacts.
Individuals requiring special accommodations should contact Scott Griepenstroh at 308.384.5444 ext. 265.
