Authorities responded to calls of a grass fire burning north of North Platte Wednesday evening.

The fire blackened a little over three square miles around 5 p.m. Crews and trucks from 10 departments were called in.

The fire has been contained. No injuries or damages to buildings have been reported.

Authorities believe the fire may have been started by a vehicle driving in tall grass.
