An official groundbreaking for the new Custer County Judicial Center has been set for Tuesday, May 27.

The Custer Campus Board of Directors and Custer Economic Development Corporation will officially break ground on the site of the seven acre Custer Campus in Broken Bow. The center will include two courtrooms for county and district court, a hearing room and offices for the county attorney, probation officer, court clerks and support staff.

“Broken Bow has historically been a regional hub for central Nebraska," explained Jerry Adams, co-president of the Custer Campus Board of Directors. “Therefore, the vision of Custer Campus was to develop a Judicial Facility that would serve the needs of Custer County and all of central Nebraska for years to come.”

According to officials, Governor Dave Heineman, Chief Justice Heavican and several others are expected to participate in the public ceremony to take place at 1:30 p.m.
