The charity group Trees 4 Branches helped kids from a Columbus church put together care packages for soldiers. The group originally just sent over Christmas trees over the holidays.

After sending trees the first time, founder Dave Koehler still wanted to give back. The kids explained why they’re doing this instead of playing ball outside.

“Jerky and gummy bears those are good. I love eating those, so I think they should be able to eath those too,” said Emma Stewart.

Volunteer Brock Bourek has had three members in his family serve in the military. Jeff Hankins who also works with Trees 4 Troops served in the Gulf War and always wants to give back.

Friday the group put together more than a 100 care packages for the troops. The kids from Columbus will help out at Hope Harbor in Grand Island on Saturday.
