Hamilton County Ag Day Brings Market Outlook to Focus
Market shifts are nothing new in the world of agriculture, but it was the main topic during Tuesday's Hamilton County Ag Day.
Possible market strategies for farmers come spring were hot topics of discussion during the event.
With the price of corn slashed almost in half this year, many farmers may be planting more soybeans in the months to come.
And while it may be a bit of a change for some, seed sellers don't look to be to impacted by the shift.
"It just changes the ratio around a little bit. You look at your sales, corn is down, and beans are up. Sales are still good, it's just a change from one crop to the next," said Pioneer seed seller Greg Bonifas.
A corn growers update, the current state of the farm bill and NRD water policy provisions were other major topics covered during the event.
