      Hastings Police Chase Lands Franklin Man Behind Bars

      A police chase, ending in a manhunt, lands one man behind bars in Hastings.

      Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. 30-year-old Travis Norris, of Franklin, Neb. chased down by officers of the Hastings Police Department.

      Police had been informed that Norris was driving a stolen vehicle and when the police attempted to pull over the suspect, Norris sped away from police. During his attempted escape Norris sped through stop signs and a traffic signal and struck a moving vehicle.

      Norris then abandoned the vehicle and ran into a corn field by Brickyard Park to hide. A search of the field involving the Hastings Police Department, the Adams County Sheriff's Department and the Nebraska State Patrol was conducted.

      Norris was seen attempting to flee the corn field and was taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m.

      Norris was arrested for fleeing to avoid arrest, possession of stolen property, willful reckless driving, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
