A Hastings couple has been killed in a crash in Clay County, and the couple's two children have been taken to the hospital.
Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin says the accident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Thursday near Saronville.
The family -- a 53-year-old man, his 52-year-old wife, their 20-something daughter and teenage son -- was heading east on U.S. Highway 6 when their SUV was struck by a southbound semitrailer that had went through a stop sign on Nebraska Highway 14, according to Franklin.
The children were flown to a Lincoln hospital. The truck driver was arrested.
Authorities have not yet released names of those involved in the collision.
