      Heineman Appoints New State Fire Marshal Jim Heine

      Gov. DaveHeineman has appointed a new fire marshal for the state of Nebraska effective immediately.

      Jim Heine served as Assistant State Fire Marshal from January 2007 until this January when he began acting as Fire Marshal following the retirement of John Falgione.

      "Jim'sexperience with the Fire Marshal's office will be invaluable to him in his newrole as the State Fire Marshal," Gov. Heineman said.

      Because of his experience working for the Fire Marshal's Office, Heine has a lot of knowledge concerning fire prevention and safety. He has also served over 30 years as a volunteer firefighter, including being the chief of the Arlington VolunteerFire Department, allowing him to be an integral part of the volunteer firefightercommunity.

      Following his appointment, Heine shared, "I am honored toserve Nebraska and its citizens as State Fire Marshal."
