Heineman to Appoint New Lt. Gov. Soon, Senators Ruled Out

Governor Dave Heineman has outlined his ideals for the next lieutenant governor.

Heineman says it's not likely that he will choose someone who wants to run for governor, as he doesn't want to give an advantage to any possible candidates in the next republican primary.

He also said he will appoint a replacement before the legislative session ends. This eliminates any current state senators.

This follows the news that broke over the weekend that Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy resigned. after state records showed he had made thousands of calls to four women on his state–issued cell phone.
