Nebraska Lottery officials hit the road to honor its top 20 outlets for the past 20 years. Thursday morning, they completed their last stop at Holdrege's Pump & Pantry on Fourth Street. It landed the 20th spot on the list.
"You'd be surprised those typical daily scratch ticket players come in every hour on the hour and sit in here and play those scratch tickets so I don't know why here of all places, but they do play," said Pump & Panty Employee Kaylee Beck.
The list also includes stores ranging from Omaha to Lincoln, Columbus and Seward. Lottery officials are excited to celebrate 20 years of success for the state and all 93 counties.
A trophy was awarded to the top 20 outlets for selling more than $100 Million worth of scratch cards and lottery tickets. Officials say some stores enjoy a loyal player base. Other stores are top sellers because of their locations or because of the customer traffic for their primary products.
