PIERCE, Neb. (AP) -- A retired Nebraska car dealer is putting hundreds of vintage Chevrolets up for auction, including some that logged only a single mile.
Collectors from around the world will bid on about 500 cars and pickups owned by the former Lambrecht Chevrolet Company in Pierce, a town of 1,800 in northeast Nebraska.
The collection was amassed by Ray Lambrecht, who opened the dealership in 1946 and ran it for 50 years. Lambrecht held onto his unsold vehicles and trade-ins as a nest egg. Some still have the manufacturers' plastic on the seats.
Auctioneer Yvette VanDerBrink says she has received calls about the auction from as far as Iceland, Singapore and Brazil.
