The Nebraska prison inmate charged with manslaughter has waived his arraignment and preliminary hearing.

Jeremy Dobbe made his first court appearance Thursday.

Dobbe was charged with manslaughter after he crashed into a minivan back in June. The crash killed the driver, 47-year-old Joyce Meeks.

He was part of an inmate driver program which shuttled other inmates to their work release programs. The program has since been discontinued.
