Vice President Joe Biden has made aneleventh hour push in efforts to convince more people to sign up for governmenthealth insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
The March 31st enrollment deadline is approaching.By that deadline nearly everyone in the United States is required to havehealth insurance coverage or risk paying a fee.
On Friday Biden asked a group ofhealth professionals with the National Association of Community Health Centersto help make sure people sign up.
Biden said "this final point I'dlike to make to you is remember why you're doing this in the first place. And these last 10 days push it as hard as youcan, expanding access makes a gigantic difference."
Earlier this week federal health officialsannounced more than five million Americans have signed up for health carethrough Healthcare.gov or othergovernment exchanges.
