      Irrigation Worth Billions In Nebraska

      Irrigation was worth $11-billion for Nebraska farmers during last year's drought.

      That's according to a study for the Nebraska Farm Bureau that measured the total impact that irrigated agriculture had on the economy in 2012.

      The study also says Nebraska would have had over 31,000 fewer jobs without irrigation. More than a third of those jobs lost would be outside of direct crop production.
