Jobeth Devera was born in Long Beach, California. She graduated from Steele Canyon High School and San Diego State University where she earned her degree in Communication with a minor in Public Relations.
Jobeth started in the news business at KSWB-TV FOX 5 San Diego, where she interned for one year. She also anchored, produced and contributed stories to a weekly half-hour student newscast called Newscene. She joined NTV as the overnight producer in August of 2012 and is now a Reporter and Weekend Producer at NTV.
Jobeth has decided to work in news because "I love meeting new people. I want to tell stories through others' experiences and let their voices be heard. My goal is to shed a positive light in all aspects of life. There's always good in the bad and it's my duty to bring that to our viewers' attention."
Jobeth's family means everything to her. She is the youngest of 3, with one older brother and one older sister. Her immediate family resides back home in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. In her spare time, Jobeth enjoys dancing, sports, traveling, relaxing and spending time with family and friends. Jobeth is also a dog lover, but doesn't like cats, mainly because she's allergic to them. She has a competitive spirit which explains why she likes to keep active.
Jobeth's main passion is dancing, specifically cultural dancing. She says, " I find fascination in the fact that different communities and cultures can come together to express themselves through the art of dance. That's so beautiful to me." She's been dancing since she was eight and did much traveling, competing and performing worldwide in places like Tahiti, Hawaii and the Philippines. She has been given the opportunity to share her talents and passion here in Nebraska. You can find her teaching Tahitian dance classes at the Kearney YMCA every Saturday from 10-11AM and at Central Community College in Grand Island on Mondays from 6:30-7:30PM.
