Congress will soon head back home forsummer recess but there are still plenty of agenda items left unfinishedincluding the farm bill.
Senator Mike Johanns said that lastweek the senate revised the House version of the farm bill to align with thecurrent senate version.
This new version will allow aconference committee to begin working through the differences and come up withone comprehensive bill but so far no committee has been organized.
Senator Johanns says they're runningout of time.
"Fortunately, this year's fall harvestwill be covered under the last farm bill, but we will face what's oftenreferred to as a dairy cliff come January, and the farmers planting wheat thisfall will need reauthorized risk management tools," he said.
The current farm bill expires on September30th.
