A Grand Island man accused of trying to kill his estranged wife has recently been found competent to stand trial.
Jesus Parra was in court Wednesday where it was ruled he is competent to stand trial as long has he continues to take his medication.
The 48-year-old Parra was initially found unfit for trial and was sent to the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment. He was to remain their until his treatment was complete and he could be sent back to the Hall County Jail.
Parra faces nine felony counts including attempted murder and child abuse. Authorities say he attacked and injured Rosa Olivas de Parra at her home in April 2013 while their kids were present.
