Kans. Bill Would Allow Spankings to Leave Marks by Teachers, Parents
A controversial billin Kansas could allow teachers, caregivers and parents to spank children hardenough to leave marks.
Current Kansas lawallows spanking as long as it doesn't leave marks. This new bill would allow upto ten strikes of the hand even if the spanking left the child with redness orbruising.
The bill would also letparents give permission to others to spank their children.
Hitting a child witha fist, in the head or body, or with a belt or rod would still be banned underthis new bill.
