      In Kansas educatorstake a look at the effects of a new federal school healthy snack rule.

      On the agenda for theKansas State Board of Education is a presentation about standards announcedthis summer by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

      Starting in July 2014the USDA will require that all food sold in schools participating in the NationalSchool Lunch Program meets healthy snack requirements.

      The USDA has saidit's trying to fight childhood obesity and related health problems. However,their standards on school lunches have been criticized as being too strict andresulting in meals that kids won't eat.
