Kearney Architectural Firm Selected for Veterans Home Project


Kearney architectural firm Wilkins Hinrichs StoberArchitects has been selected to lead the project for the new Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Once a contract is signed, the firm will lead a team of nine specialized consultants working on the project. However, no contract will be sign until federal funds have been approved for the project.

"Wilkins HinrichsStober Architects is uniquely qualified to oversee the development of the newCentral Nebraska Veterans' Home," John Hilgert, Director of NebraskaHealth and Human Services Division of Veterans' Homes, said about the decision. "With 35 years ofexperience in planning, designing and developing related projects, I'mconfident that their leadership will result in an outstanding new home thatNebraska veterans and communities in central Nebraska will proudof."

The department says Wilkins Hinrichs Stober Architects has worked on more than 100 senior care projects including the Grand Island Good Samaritan Village and the Holdrege Christian Homes Assisted Living facility.
