Kearney Catholic will be one of many schools competing in the Nebraska All-Stars speech competition. The six hour show will be held at Wisner-Pilger High School and all the proceeds will go to helping out victims of last month's tornado.

The students will be doing their versions of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and “Romeo and Juliet”. The Kearney Catholic kids will also be doing a duet featuring a condensed version of Shakespeare plays.

Once their coach heard about the event, she signed the team up right away.

“These kids have been blessed with awesome abilities and skills and what better way to share them to benefit others, not just to entertain but do something valuable,” said Kearney Catholic speech coach Maureen Nitz.

Kearney High will also be sending two representatives to the competition.
