The city of Kearney is still offering Buffalo County residents a chance to recycle their old electronic items.

The electronic waste can be taken to the Kearney Area Recycling Center, 3007 E. 39th St., and the Solid Waste Agency Landfill, 6711 W. 56th St., through Jan. 31. Both centers are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Landfill is also open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Officials hope this recycling effort will allow interested residents to recycle items that may have been replaced during the holiday season.

Accepted items include: computers (laptop or desktop), hard drives, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, speakers, tablets, televisions and cell phones.

The Sanitation Division is partnering with Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska and Computer Hardware of Kearney Nebraska to arrange for shipment and recycling of the old electronics.
