The Kearney County Health Services hospital in Minden is holding an open house for residents to check out the hospital's renovations and expansion.
The open house will take place Friday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. at the south entrance of the hospital. Tours will follow the ceremony.
Several special guests have been invited to attend, including Gov. Dave Heineman.
The $10 million KCHSproject includes an 8,600 square foot hospital addition and renovation of 7,900square feet of the current hospital facility. The addition was completed lastfall. The renovation was completed this year, on schedule.
The addition contains 10new in-patient private rooms, a new cardiac rehabilitation department, newentrance, admissions and waiting room area as well as additional parking.
The renovation phasesincluded renovating part of the acute care wing to a new, larger, two bayemergency room with waiting area, four outpatient exam rooms with twooutpatient physician offices, a pharmacy area, nurses' station and procedureroom.
