Kearney High School has been named on Newsweek's list of Best High Schools in the Nation.
KHS came in at 1,849 on the list that ranks only the top 2,000 public high schools across the country.
The list looks at six components that factor into turning out college ready graduates. The six components include: graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course.
The Kearney school was one of only five Nebraska schools included on the list. The others were: Millard West High School (ranked 900), Millard North High School (ranked 1190), Beatrice High School (ranked 1726) and Millard South High School (ranked 1728).
