Kearney High School Student Could Face Weapons Charge for Knife in Backpack
A Kearney High School student could face a weapons charge and expulsion for bringing a knife to school Tuesday.
The knife was found in the boy's backpack after the school called for medical help for the boy, who was unresponsive at the time.
The student did not have to be transported to the hospital and was released to his parents.
The school district's policy is to expel any students who bring weapons onto school property. Additionally, the police are asking the county to charge the teen with having a concealed weapon on school property.
