      Kearney Park and Rec Dept. Offering Options to Get Kids Active

      The Kearney Park and Recreation Department offers several opportunities for kids to get active, even in the winter months.

      Different options are available for different age groups.

      For children ages 2 to 3 there is a parent/child Move It! class. This class meets Thursdays, Jan. 16- Feb. 20. Registration is $18.

      Kids ages 4 through second grade can participate in Move It! on Tuesday at 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., Jan. 14- Feb. 18. Registration is $18.

      Zumba Kids is for kids in kindergarten to fourth grade. That class meets on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., Jan. 13- Feb. 17. Registration is $20

      For older kids ages 9 to 13, the city has a "Rocky Mountain" Indoor Climbing Camp and Indoor Archery Snowball Shoot Camp.

      The first session for the archery camp will take place from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11. The second session will follow from 3 to 4:15 p.m. the same day. Registration for the archery camp is $10.

      The climbing camp will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12. Registration for that class is $65.
