The 16thAnnual Kool-Aid Days Festival will be held in Hastings, Nebraska August 9-11. The festival celebrates Hastingsas the birthplace of Kool-Aid.
This will be the 16th year of the festival and there will now be 16 different flavors of Kool-Aid servedfrom the World's Largest Kool-Aid Stand during the course of the weekend, which is why this year's festival will have a "Sweet Sixteen" theme.
2013 also will include the second year of theMiss Kool-Aid Days pageant. This pageant is a preliminary for the Miss Americacontest. The local winner will go on to participate in the Miss Nebraskapageant held in North Platte in June 2014.
Rather thantaking place festival weekend, the pageant will be held on Saturday, August 3 at French Memorial Chapelon the Hastings College Campus.
