      Lawmakers Approve Changes to State's 2-year Budget

      Nebraska law-makers have approvedchanges to the state's two-year budget, some of which will make more fundsavailable for property tax relief.

      The nearly $8-billion package includesnew money for water projects and state park renovations. It also aidsjob-training programs and pediatric cancer research.

      The next step is for Governor Heinemanto approve the bills, though he said they don't go far enough to lower taxes.

      Supporters of the budget bills believethey provide a responsible balance of priorities.
