Lawmakers Await Economic Forecast
Nebraska lawmakers aren't necessarily watching the weather, but they are waiting for a big forecast to be released Friday.
The Economic Forecasting Advisory Board will meet, and give senators an idea how much money they have to work with.
The last time the group met, back in October, they raised projections.
If that happens again, senators may feel more comfortable voting for bills that have a cost associated with them.
But if projections are down, senators may be more cautious about supporting expensive new programs.
When they met in October, the board members said individuals paid more in income tax than expected, which resulted in a $45.6 million increase to the state's cash reserve.
