Lexington CPA Pleads Guilty to Tax Charges Related to Cozad Business
A Lexington man has pleaded guilty to a federal criminal tax charge.
On Monday, Donald Ondrak entered his plea in United States District Court in Lincoln for aiding and assisting in the preparation of a false tax return.
Ondrak waived indictment and pled guilty to inflating cost of labor values on a tax return by approximately $800,000. This inflation lowered the taxable corporate income of a Cozad based medical equipment company by that amount.
Ondrak, a C.P.A. in Lexington, was responsible for preparing the tax returns for many farmers, businessmen and businesses around central Nebraska.
As part of a plea agreement, Ondrak will not be prosecuted for any other tax related offenses.
Ondrak is scheduled for sentencing on October 28 at 9:00 a.m. in Lincoln.
He faces a maximum of three years in prison, $250,000 in fines, a year of supervised release and several special assessment fees.
