Lexington is hosting a pharmaceutical take-back event on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Officials will be collected unused prescription drugs at the Lexington Regional Healthcare Building.
It is important to make sure you dispose of prescription drugs properly. Improper disposal could result in drug abuse or it could even end up in the water.
Medications being accepted include unused medications and expired medications. The containers will be taken to the Lexington Area Solid Waste Agency for recycling.
A take-back event took place in 2010 and over 50 lbs. of medication was collected.
