Gas prices in Nebraska remain mostly unchanged over the past week as the average price for a gallon of gas rose 1.1 cents to $3.54.

The survey conducted by GasBuddy, an online gasoline pricing website, found that with that change, prices on Sunday were nearly 22 cents lower than this time last year and almost 7 cents per gallon lower than they were one month ago.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says he expects prices at the pump to continue to drift lower over the next few days.

"Most states are seeing their average below last year, and as summerslowly fades, gasoline prices may as well in many communities," he explained. "Cooler weathertypically brings relief as demand declines and discretionary travel ebbs."

According to GasBuddy, national prices saw only slight changes as well. Average gas prices fell .4 cents per gallon, reaching $3.57 per gallon.

DeHaan said, "Americans are now shelling out $50 million less perday than they were last year when pump prices averaged 13-cents more pergallon."
