A 42-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Gering after a police officer saw him going nearly 100 mph, more than double the posted speed limit.
The Gering Police Department says an officer stopped Brandon Pate after his vehicle was clocked at 98 mph in an area where the posted speed limit was 40 mph. The officer said Pate's vehicle was running others off the road.
Pate faces charges of speeding, willful reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
He also faces drug charges for a small amount of marijuana and glass pipe that was allegedly found in his pockets when he was arrested.
