Man Gets Life in Prison for Shooting Death of Sidney Man
A judge has ordered life in prison for a 35-year-old California man convicted of killing a Sidney man during a dispute over drug money.
Jason Custer, formerly of Chico, Calif., was sentenced in Cheyenne County District Court Thursday. He'd been convicted in January after a weeklong trial during which he was found guilty of killing 35-year-old Adam McCormick, of Sidney, in addition to two weapons charges.
Prosecutors say Custer shot McCormick at a Sidney house in November 2012 after the two men argued over $160 in drug money. Officers found McCormick lying in the driveway with bullet wounds in his abdomen and leg. He died later at a hospital.
