GI Man with Gang Ties Arrested on Weapons Charge

Grand Island police arrested a man for use of a knife, following a report of a stabbing.

Prosecutors said in court Monday that Ricardo Alamilla is a documented gang member.

He was arrested on East Sixth Street in Grand Island, the site of a weekend stabbing.

Officers say a man was stabbed in the shoulder during a house party. Police Capt. Dean Elliott said the people involved had been drinking at a bar, and went to the home afterwards.

A fight broke out, and a man was stabbed in the shoulder blade, early on the morning of Feb. 8.

Alamilla was not charged with the stabbing, however, he was charged with possession of a knife at the location where the stabbing took place.

Police continue to investigate.
