McCain Plans to Seek 6th Term, Not Presidency


      A majority of members in congress haveturned their focus on the 2014 midterm elections.

      One senator has set his sights evenfurther and is looking ahead toward his potential 2016 re-election plans. John McCain said he is still"looking very seriously" at a sixth senate run in 2016.

      The politician made the comment duringan interview on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Monday night.

      McCain will be 80 years old when ElectionDay rolls around in November 2016.

      This isn't the first time McCain hasexpressed his interest in retaining his seat. In October, he also said he was"seriously thinking" about running for another term.

      When it comes to questions regarding anotherrun for president, he said the people have already spoken.

      He does have an opinion on promisingcandidates. He gave a vote of confidence to some republican governors, includingChris Christie and Bobby Jinal, and said they would be good choices for therepublican nomination.
