      Medication Take Back Day Set for Communities Throughout Central Nebraska

      The Drug Enforcement Administration has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, which willtake place on Saturday, April 27. This is a greatopportunity for those who have unwanted over the counter and prescriptiondrugs, to safely dispose of those medications.

      Last year a record-breaking 276 tons of unwanted or expired medications were turned in to 5,659 sites across the United States.

      The communities involved in this year's event include:

      • The Alma Take Back will be held at the Johnson Centerparking lot in Alma from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Harlan CountySheriff's Office and Two Rivers Public Health Department.
      • The Franklin Take Back will be held at the Franklin County Courthousefrom 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.and is sponsored by theFranklin County Sheriff's Office, Franklin Memorial Hospital, and Two RiversPublic Health Department.
      • The Holdrege Take Back will be held at the Agricultural Center inHoldrege, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the HoldregePolice Department, Phelps Memorial Health Center and Two Rivers Public HealthDepartment.
      • TheKearney Take Back will be held inthe parking lot north of Good Samaritan Hospital from 10:00 a.m.until 2:00 p.m.. The Buffalo CountySheriff's Office, Good Samaritan Hospital, Positive Pressure Coalition and TwoRivers Public Health Department are sponsoring the event.
      • The Lexington Take Back will be held at the Lexington Regional HealthCenter Lobby from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the LexingtonRegional Health Center, Keep Lexington Beautiful, the Nebraska State Patrol,and the Two Rivers Public Health Department.
