Melody Pettit was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated as a Savannah Savage and then earned her Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University, studying both in Provo, Utah and Hawaii.
Melody loves the news and thinks it is vital for Americans today to stay informed so we can all make educated and smart choices for our futures. Melody started out as a play by play color announcer for the BYU sports network. She also worked as a female sports analyst for Provo and as an Associate Producer for FOX 13 KSTU in Salt Lake City. Melody came to NTV to get back to her Midwest roots. She loves the real down to earth, nice people here. Melody is currently a reporter based in NTV's Grand Island newsroom.
Some of Melody's hobbies and activities include her love of sports, especially basketball. She loves to surf and wants to learn to golf. She also enjoys a good book and great food. Melody also adds that when she went to school in Hawaii, she developed a love and fascination for the Polynesian Islands; the people, the food, the culture and the scenery. The Polynesian people taught her the true meaning of "Aloha" and she hopes the people of Nebraska will adopt her into their Ohana. He'elele ka moe na ke kanaka.
