Mental Health Evaluation Scheduled for Wyoming Teen Accused in Guard's Strangulation
A 15-year-old Wyoming boy accused of killing a jail guard will be heading to Papillion later this month to complete a mental health evaluation.
Dylan Cardeilhac, of Torrington, Wyo., has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the death of 24-year-old Amanda Baker, a guard at the Scotts Bluff County corrections facility he was being held at on a robbery charge.
Authorities say Cardeilhac lured Baker into his cell on Feb. 14 and proceeded to strangle her. Baker died a few days later after doctors had declared her brain dead.
Cardeilhac pleaded guilty to the robbery charge that landed him behind bars in the first place. His sentencing for the robbery charge is scheduled for May 22.
