Meth and Marijuana Seized in Two Separate Traffic Stops
The following is a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol:
(Lincoln, NE)- Two separate traffic stops on Interstate 80 over the weekend led to the seizure of 3 lbs. of crystal methamphetamine, 36 lbs. of marijuana and the arrest of three individuals.
On Monday, January 19, 2009, at approximately 1:50 p.m. a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop-Lincoln stopped a westbound 1999 Volkswagen near the Waverly Interchange on I-80 for driving on the shoulder. An NSP canine indicated an odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of three packages of crystal methamphetamine, floating in the vehicle's gas tank.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 27-yer-old Fredy Banuelos-Luna (DOB 12-21-81) of Bellevue, Nebraska was arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.
A Friday, January 16, 2009, traffic stop along Interstate 80 in central Nebraska led to the seizure of 36 lbs. of marijuana.
At approximately, 5:15p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop C Headquarters-Grand Island stopped an eastbound, 2000 Cadillac DeVille, for speeding on I-80, mm 310, near Grand Island, in Hall County, Nebraska. A Hall County Sheriff's Office canine indicated an odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A search led to the seizure of 36 lbs. of marijuana located in a stereo speaker in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Trent Young (DOB 1-18-87) of Peoria, Illinois and a passenger, 21-year-old Brittini Alexander (DOB 10-14-87) of Peoria, Illinois were both lodged in the Hall County corrections Center each on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
