Minden Woman Files Lawsuit Against School District for Husband's Death

The widow of a Minden city employee who died from injuries while clearing sewer lines is now suing Minden Public Schools.

Robert Honomichl, 55, died in August, two days after being overcome by toxic gas while unclogging a sewer station.

His widow, Trina Honomichl has filed a negligence claim in Kearney County that says employees at the school district's bus barn were responsible for the clogged sewer that caused her husband's death.

City officials were called to that same sewer several days in a row and determined the clogs were coming from cleaning cloths which came from the bus barn.

Minden Public Schools Superintendent Melissa Wheelock says they cannot comment on an ongoing legal matter.
