Motorcyclists Stress Sharing Road As New Riding Season Approaches

A popular bike show and swap meet comes back to Kearney for the seventh year, and as we head closer to Springtime, the focus turns to safety for those on the road.

Show officials say riders have just as much right to be on the road as other motorists, adding rider training and protective gear are always essential for them.

The biggest concern, though, is for motorists to look out for bikers as they start sharing the road again.

"Well right now roads, you just don't know it could be slick, they could be what have you," said show producer Jeff Allen. "And just a lot of motorists, cars in general, just aren't looking for us yet this year, so just keep an eye out for us."

A fund raiser is also being held for the 'Bikers Against Child Abuse' during the event, which continues tomorrow from 10a.m.–4p.m. at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds Ag Pavillion.
