Neb. Abandons Attempt to Block Birth Control Ruling


Nebraska hasabandoned its attempt to block a health care rule that requires employers tocover birth control for employees.

Attorney General Jon Bruning'soffice has dropped its appeal of a federal judge's dismissal of a law-suitchallenging the new law.

Bruning's office isnow exploring the best way to challenge law.

In early 2012 Bruningjoined other republican state attorneys general to sue to try to block the law.They claimed the rule violated the rights of employers that object to the useof contraceptives on religious grounds.
