Gas prices continued their descent toward the three dollar mark over the last week in Nebraska.
According to GasBuddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Nebraska fell 4 cents to $3.09.
GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says the downward movement is thanks to a fall in commodity prices.
"Oil pricescontinue to shed value, leading the way to lower gasoline prices," DeHaan said. He added that the Midwest states south of Nebraska are seeing their average price fall below $3 a gallon.
With last week's drop, prices Sunday were 27 cents per gallon lower than this time last year and over 18 cents per gallon lower than one month ago.
The national average continues to fall as well. GasBuddy says the national average fell just over 3 cents per gallon over the past week to $3.26.
