After nine months of research and development, the commission approved the 'Nebraska Nice' campaign.
“The process of branding Nebraska as a destination is more than creating a symbol or slogan. We set out to find a message that would resonate with Nebraskans and will very quickly communicate Nebraska’s strengths to potential visitors," explained commission director Kathy McKillip. "We believe we have accomplished this goal and are looking forward to executing new and exciting promotions that will help spread the word that Nebraska truly is a NICE place to be.”
Commission vice chairman John Chapo says the new campaign evolved from intense brand research that showed one of Nebraska's strongest assets is its people. But they say the campaign isn't just about Nebraskans being nice to each other or to visitors, it also is meant to reference the "nice moments" that make vacations memorable and special.
More from the campaign is expected to be released to the public next week.
