Memorial Day weekend is generally considered the unofficial start to summer and as such, many of Nebraska's parks are preparing.
The Bessey Ranger District near Halsey plans to turn on water to its campsites and shower house at the Bessey Recreation Complex by Thursday, May 23. Once completed, the campsites will be ready for the summer season.
According to Bessey Recreational Specialist Dan Frodsham, the water will run through Labor Day.
