Nebraska Receives Funds to Aid Health and Safety Initiatives
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Thursday announcedsupport for projects that will create jobs and improve the quality of life in ruralcommunities in 25 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
"These projects will help ruralcommunities, protect the safety of residents and create a framework for jobcreation and economic growth," said Vilsack
Nebraska will receive nearly $389,000 to aid in projects across the state.
The Warren MemorialHospital Foundation of Friend, will use the $322,000 they are given to purchasesoftware to convert and maintain all medical records electronically.
TheNiobrara Valley Hospital Corporation of Lynch, was awarded $33,500 toreplace windows and exterior doors for a more energy efficient hospital and patient comfort ina 20 bed critical access hospital.
The Table Rock Community Foundation in Table Rock will use $33,000 to purchase a new grass fire truck.
The more than $5 million infunding announced Thursday will go towards 127 projects through USDA RuralDevelopment's Community Facilities Program.
